e-Genting Programming Competition 2011

This year four students (including two graduates) from the School of Engineering and Computing joined the e-Genting Programming Competition (EGPC) 2011.  In 2010, Mr Chong Han Liang who has just graduated from the BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering programme won the Second Prize.

IBM SmartCloud Training

On Saturday, 29 October 2011, a group of students from the BSc (Hons) Software Engineering, and a lecturer attended the IBM SmartCloud Training held at IBM Plaza, Bandar Utama.

The training covered three sessions:

• Section 1 - Cloud Computing Concepts and Benefits 
• Section 2 - Cloud Computing Design Principles 
• Section 3 - IBM Software Cloud Computing Architecture

The students will prepare for the Cloud Quiz and give themselves every chance of becoming cloud certified, and making it to SmartCloud Camp. The objective of this training is to prepare the students to pass the certification test for Test 000-032 Foundations of Cloud Computing Architecture V1.

IBM SmartCloup Camp Roadshow

On Tuesday, 11 October 2011, 5 lecturers and 23 students from the BSc (Hons) Software Engineering attended the IBM SmartCloud Camp Roadshow held at Universiti Malaya from 10:45 am to 1:00 pm.  This is the first step on the road to the IBM SmartCloud Camp.
